Abstract

The San Francisco Declaration, known as DORA, was published in 2013, with principles on the evaluation of research that after 10 years are still alive. These principles are based on the evaluation of the quality of the research outputs, and not the medium where they are published, and on the transparency of the data used to create “prestige” indicators. Moreover, on promoting the inclusion of a qualitative evaluation of the research work and the measurement of its social impact, fleeing from the purely quantitative indices of the publications. These principles have served as the basis and inspiration for new initiatives and projects focused on the analysis and design of new scientific assessment frameworks in a digital world
