Abstract

The CSIC, using the 1% Cultural Fund, acquires a collection of scientific illustrations from the 17th to the 20th centuries for the Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales and the Real Jardín Botánico. This collection, assembled over 25 years by pediatrician Joaquín Carrasco, was presented to the Museum through a direct sale offer. The quality and authorship of the collection, and the obligation to allocate at least 1% of the total amount of public works contracts to conservation or enhancement of Cultural Heritage, made the purchase possible
