Abstract

EPICo (European Print Initiatives Collaboration) is a European network focused on collaboration among libraries and repositories to preserve printed bibliographic heritage. Originating from the Kuopio conferences (1999–2012) and officially established in 2024, EPICo promotes cooperative preservation strategies, project databases, and resource-saving assessments. Since joining in 2023, CSIC via GRANADO has contributed to EPICo's mission amid increasing digitalization and space constraints. Key benefits of EPICo membership include international collaboration, resource optimization, access to specialized research, and enhanced institutional visibility. The 2nd EPICo/Kuopio Congress, held in Barcelona in September 2024, emphasized the importance of print in a digital world, fostering knowledge exchange and best practices for long-term preservation.
