Abstract

For more than a decade, the Unit of Scientific Information Resources for Research (URICI) has collaborated with open science through partnerships and support for technological infrastructures. These actions began with promoting open access publishing and have expanded to promoting open science principles among researchers. Since it adhered to the Berlin Declaration in 2006, CSIC has been present in important international forums and associations such as COAR, Science Europe, and SPARC Europe. Through its participation in initiatives such as SCOAP3, Arxiv, ORE, Scipost, and the Open Library of Humanities, CSIC has actively contributed to developing open access platforms. Additionally, it has supported key infrastructures such as DSpace, ROR, ORCID, and DataCite, which facilitate the visibility and citation of research. CSIC’s commitment to innovative publishing models, such as S2O (Subscribe to Open), has helped advance towards a more sustainable and accessible open science model, reducing dependence on large commercial publishers and promoting a fairer ecosystem for the dissemination of scientific knowledge
