Abstract

On June 22 and 23, 2006, the Second Conference on Archives and Memory was held in Madrid at the headquarters of the Fundación de los Ferrocarriles Españoles, organized by the Department of Anthropology of the CSIC and the Archivo Histórico Ferroviario. During these two days, numerous procedures and working methods carried out in archives and libraries that preserve special collections were presented, as well as several historical, anthropological and literary research projects that are being developed in different institutions, using materials preserved and/or collected by these archives and libraries.
