Abstract

The CSIC approved before last summer a Special Action for the library of the Botanical Institute of Barcelona (IBB). This aid has made it possible to carry out the retrospective conversion of the bibliographic collections or library of the Salvador Museum (16th-18th century), which, due to its age, quality and rarity, is a valuable contribution to the Catalogue of the CSIC Library Network (CIRBIC). It consists of the library assembled by the Catalan family of pharmacists "Salvador", between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, with the particularity that it is the only collection in the Iberian Peninsula of private origin with ancient works specializing in Botany, Pharmacy, Medicine and Natural Sciences.
