Abstract

This work, conceived and carried out as a tribute to a person who is a true institution in the world of documentation in Spain -and particularly in the CSIC- by two of his closest collaborators, offers the possibility, not only to know the professional vicissitudes of a career as committed as diverse in its activities, but also to obtain a general overview of the evolution of the discipline of documentation over a few decades characterized by dizzying changes in its approach and by the irruption of new technologies, which resulted in its evolution, but also to obtain a general overview of the evolution of the discipline of documentation over a few decades characterized by dizzying changes in its approach and by the irruption of new technologies, which led to its rapid modernization and consolidation as a public service.
