Abstract

On April 20, the conference organized by CSIC and co-sponsored by Elsevier "The Role of the Library in the Evaluation of Research" was held in Madrid. The conference was oriented more to the evaluation of research institutions than to the evaluation of researchers, through the analysis of rankings such as the Shanghai Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), Leiden Ranking 2008, Times Higher Education - World university Rankings 2008, Scimago Institutions Ranking (SIR) and the Web Ranking of World Universities.
