Abstract

Barely a year and a half after its public release in January 2008, Digital.CSIC is in the process of consolidation as an open access platform that hosts the entire scientific production of the Spanish National Research Council (Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas). At the end of May 2009, in a significantly short period considering the usual evolution times, the CSIC institutional repository already stores more than 11200 scientific papers, a level of content that, although still far from the number of materials archived in large scientific institutions such as the CNRS or the Max Planck Gesellschaft, already places Digital.CSIC among the most relevant platforms at national level, and as the most important if we examine only the scientific content in Spanish repositories.
