Abstract

In 1984, the CSIC created its Library Computerization Program (PRIBIC) with the aim of generating an automated collective catalogue of all its bibliographic collections; the initial idea was soon surpassed and services were developed around the collective catalogue and solutions were defined for all CSIC libraries, thus fostering the awareness of belonging to a network with common objectives.
