One of the strategic lines of action contemplated in the 2011 Action Plan of the state agency CSIC was based on the establishment of the new structure of the institution's “Scientific Information System” (SIC). The truth is that it was necessary to address this aspect, because the panorama of the agents involved in scientific information has changed considerably in recent years in our organization. Either because of the suppression of former centers, as occurred in 2007 with the disappearance of CINDOC and the assignment of its databases to IEDCYT, or because of the need to coordinate more effectively the increased competencies in scientific information carried out by different units. This Action Plan is built throughout the year, with the issuance of internal resolutions for its implementation. Specifically, the resolution structuring the CSIC Scientific Information System was approved by the President on May 31 and made public on the Intranet on June 2, 2011.
