Abstract

“Linnaeus Link” is an international cooperative project that began to take shape in the late 1990s on the initiative of the Linnean Society (London), the institution that safeguards the library, correspondence and collections of plants and other living specimens of the famous Swedish botanist Carl Linnaeus (1707-1778), considered the father of modern taxonomy and undoubtedly one of the most influential scientists of his time. His system has allowed the classification of plants, animals and minerals in a clear and easy way; a system so useful and simple that it is still in use two and a half centuries later.
