Abstract

100 years ago, in 1913, the first volume of Flora de Catalunya was published, an essential work of Catalan botany in the 20th century. Its driving force was Joan Cadevall i Diars, a teacher and botanist who managed to publish the first three volumes. Due to historical circumstances, its publication was very uneven, and it was not completed until 1937. Cadevall's death in 1921 meant that Pius Font i Quer took charge of the project from then on.
