The development of digitisation projects at the CSIC has had several phases: The first and most important phase was to lay the theoretical foundations for developing digitisation projects in a unitary manner within the CSIC Library and Archive Network. This led to the management and publication of the “Master Plan for the digitisation of CSIC funds” which consolidated the management of projects in accordance with international standards and procedures and preservation. The second was the implementation of management software and the portal for the most appropriate dissemination of digitised funds. The third phase, and equally important, was the acquisition by the Scientific Information Resources Unit for Research (URICI) of a scanner which offers a certain independence to the CSIC Library and Archive Network to digitise the funds of interest. Within this third stage, the “Annual Call for Projects” is maintained but what has also been called “Digideseo” has been implemented.
