Abstract

Pinterest is a social network for finding, organizing, filtering and sharing mainly still and/or moving images. Users create thematic boards where they can upload their own images (pins) or share images uploaded and shared by other users (repin). In its short lifespan, Pinterest has become one of the most important social media on the web scene. Designed as a board on which to post images, it has proven to be an effective tool for discovering content and products of all kinds, capable of increasing awareness of other websites. This is helped by its innovative design, which gives great importance to images and makes browsing one of its main sources of knowledge discovery.
