Implementation of the GTBib application in the Interlibrary Loan Service of the CSIC libraries

Abstract

On January 7, 2015, the interlibrary loan management application GTBib was implemented in our CSIC Library and Archive Network. There have been several reasons for this change in the Interlibrary Loan (IL) tool, including the move to the Aleph 22 version, whose IL module is not supported by our current management method. The GTBib application has been selected for a number of advantages, highlighting that it is specifically designed for interlibrary loans. It is intuitive and easy to use, as well as offering constant maintenance and efficient management by its developers who continually adapt it to our requirements. Not to mention that most of the libraries we interact with use GTBib, so we have come to speak the same language when managing IL.
