The Arxiu d’Etnografia i Folklore de Catalunya (AEFC), as already mentioned in issue 23 of Enredadera, was created in November 1915 by Dr. Tomàs Carreras i Artau. A very important part of this archive is its graphic section, made up of photographs, postcards, press clippings, literature, joys, etc. Image digitized in SIMURG from the Arxiu d’Etnografia i Folklore de Catalunya: Secular festival It should be noted that the AEFC was a pioneer in the use of photography as an auxiliary technique in its anthropological research work. The series of photographs by the AEFC, taken mostly by its own promoters, covers such varied themes as: religious expressions, traditional transport, popular art, agricultural work, fishing techniques, popular architecture, festive customs, etc. The geographical scope of these photographs is Spain, especially Catalonia, other European countries, America and Africa.
