The libraries of the CSIC research centres have been expanding their catalogue of traditional services by opening up to new information technologies and innovations in documentation. Some libraries maintain regular and intense activity in the field of bibliometrics, which is briefly described here. The library of the Institut de Ciència de Materials (ICMAB) specialises in materials science, in its relation to diverse areas such as electronics, energy and the environment, biomaterials and their application to medicine, nanotechnology… The library of the Institut de Microelectrònica (IMB-CNM) specialises in the area of physics, electronics and computer engineering.
