Abstract

The fourth edition of the International Open Data Conference (IODC16) took place on 6 and 7 October at the IFEMA Exhibition Centre in Madrid. Organised by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism through the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and the Information Society (SETSI) and red.es, the International Development Research Center (IDRC), the World Bank, and the Open Data for Development Network, and with the support of the Madrid City Council and the European Commission, this multi-sector event was a meeting point for the international community working with open data to discuss its value in different fields and the general benefits for the economy and society.
