Abstract

“Building capacity for transformation” was the motto of the 13th Berlin Open Access Conference, held on 21 and 22 March 2017 at the Harnack House of the Max Planck Society (MPG) in Berlin. Since 2013, the Max Planck Society has organised this conference annually with the aim of promoting the OA2020 initiative, which will enable a transformation of scientific journals based on a subscription model into journals based on an open access model.
