Open Access Observatory of Catalan universities: an initiative to monitor Open Access

Abstract

Anna Rovira indicates that she will try to explain what for her is basically a successful experience on the part of the Catalan universities that, in fact, originated in some work days held in mid-2016 in which the libraries of the UB and The UPC agreed to strengthen their collaboration in common projects. Several initiatives emerged, one of which was the creation of a UB-UPC Open Access Observatory. The objective of this Observatory was to know the situation of open publishing to make decisions based on evidence, examine the effectiveness of institutional mandates, make comparisons between both institutions and increase open access in all Catalan universities.
