The presentation will be divided into three distinct parts. The first part deals with general aspects that situate ourselves in the specific framework in which the negotiations with the publishers will be carried out. The second part focuses on a more detailed description of the concept of transformative agreement, giving a precise definition of it and listing both its main characteristics and the implications that its achievement will have on the authors of scientific publications and on the new role that libraries will have to assume as managers of the workflow. The last part focuses on the CSIC's experience in reaching transformative agreements with large publishers. It begins with a description of the global scenario in which our institution finds itself with a view to achieving such agreements, through a bibliometric analysis based on data from URICI, GesBIB and INTACT on the scientific production of the CSIC during 2018.
