This article explains the services and characteristics of the Library of the Spanish Institute of Oceanography, a public research organization that in 2021 has been integrated as a national center in the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC). The history of the institute, founded in 1914, and its publications are briefly described, which is necessary to know the context in which its centers and library services are developed.
